As of today, September 5th, 2020, there are seven days until the Las Vegas Raiders take on the Carolina Panthers in week one. Here at BroSports, we’re going to release one Raiders game prediction a day until kickoff. We’re going to take a look at how we think the Raiders will match up with each opponent, what we think the score will be, and track those Raiders wins and losses throughout the season.
Today, sadly, the Raiders host those dastardly Kansas City Chiefs.
Las Vegas Raiders 2020 Predictions: Week Eleven
The Chiefs at a Glance
We’ve already taken a look at Kansas City in the earlier match-up, but here it is again. Patrick Mahomes’ Kansas City Chiefs are the defending Super Bowl Champions. Mahomes is arguably the league’s best player, Travis Kelce is an elite tight end, and most of the receivers run sub 4.4 40 yard dashes.
The defense boasts Chris Jones, one of the most disruptive defensive linemen in football, and enough speed in the secondary to capitalize on bad mistakes. The Chiefs have won the AFC West for the last four seasons, and have beaten the Raiders in 12 of the last 14 meetings.
Littleton vs. Kelce
Of all the one-on-one matchups, this is the one that intrigues me the most. Cory Littleton is one of the NFL’s best coverage linebackers, Travis Kelce is an elite tight end. Kelce has had some big moments against the Raiders in the past, it’ll be interesting to see if the team’s commitment to the front seven makes an immediate impact.
At the very least, I’d like to see Johnathan Abram make himself known over the middle at least once.
The Prediction
Stick with me Raider Nation, but I think Patrick Mahomes and company brought the brooms to Allegiant. The Raiders just aren’t where they need to be to hang with teams like Kansas City yet. The day will come, if it helps, the Chiefs still have the fewest AFC West titles with 12 (everyone else has 15), and hopefully the Raiders will be ready to compete before they catch up.
