Las Vegas Raiders 2020 Predictions: Week Twelve

As of today, September 6th, 2020, there are six days until the Las Vegas Raiders take on the Carolina Panthers in week one. Here at BroSports, we’re going to release one Raiders game prediction a day until kickoff. We’re going to take a look at how we think the Raiders will match up with each opponent, what we think the score will be, and track those Raiders wins and losses throughout the season.

Las Vegas Raiders 2020 Predictions: Week Twelve

The Falcons at a Glance

A few years removed from their epic Super Bowl meltdown, the Falcons have failed to find their footing. Matt Ryan is still under center, still slinging it to Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley, and they acquired Hayden Hurst from the Baltimore Ravens over the off-season.

Stud linebacker Deion Jones is still flying around on defense, and they added A.J. Terrell in the draft. They’re hoping that Grady Jarrett can free up Takk McKinley and Donte Fowler Jr. on the edge to terrorize quarterbacks.

A Great Test

The Atlanta Falcons have a great receiving corps and a good quarterback, they’re gonna make a really great test for this young secondary. Assuming that Trayvon Mullen and Damon Arnette are the starting corners, they’ll have their hands full with Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley. I’m not saying this is the whole game, because the Raiders do have to worry about slowing down Todd Gurley as well, but the game will mostly be decided in the Vegas secondary.

The Prediction

I’m letting you down again, Raider Nation. I think the Falcons come away with the Dub here. Every time the Raiders face off against an explosive offense, I’m reminded of how poorly both sides of the ball played last year. This could be a signature win for the Raiders, holding down an elite offensive unit on the road, but until I see some real production from the young defense, I’m not buying.
