Las Vegas Raiders 2020 Predictions: Week Sixteen

As of today, September 10th, 2020, there are three days until the Las Vegas Raiders take on the Carolina Panthers in week one. Here at BroSports, we’re going to release one Raiders game prediction a day until kickoff. We’re going to take a look at how we think the Raiders will match up with each opponent, what we think the score will be, and track those Raiders wins and losses throughout the season.

For the Raider’s last home bout, the Silver and Black host Tua’s Miami Dolphins.

Las Vegas Raiders 2020 Predictions: Week Sixteen

The Dolphins at a Glance

The Dolphins completely revamped their roster this off-season. They drafted Tua Tagovailoa and Austin Jackson, and signed Kyle Van Noy, Shaq Lawson, Byron Jones, Jordan Howard, and Emmanuel Ogbah. This isn’t a team that’s ready to compete right now, but it’s definitely one with a very, very bright future.

Tua Time?

Tua Tagovailoa is a promising young quarterback. Before he got hurt, he was penciled in as the first overall pick. He was a wunderkind at Alabama, winning the National Championship, the National Championship offensive MVP, the Maxwell Award, the Walter Camp award, was an All-American, and was first-team All-SEC. The kid has what it takes… but…

He’s banged up. He dislocated his hip in 2019, and there are conflicting reports about his health. The Raiders have actually struggled with incumbent Dolphins starter, Ryan Fitzpatrick, in the past, so missing out on Tua wouldn’t help the Raider’s chances.

The Prediction

I don’t think the Phins are ready to really compete. On paper, the Raiders match up really well against the young Miami team, and knowing executive Reggie McKenzie, they’ll be waiting a long, long time to reap the rewards. Sorry Phin-Fans, I had to get that dig in.
