Steelers Keys to Victory vs. the Tennessee Titans

The Pittsburgh Steelers are on a roll to start the season winning their first five games. They face their toughest challenge yet, going up against the also undefeated Tennessee Titans

Steelers Keys to Victory vs. the Tennessee Titans

Contain Derrick Henry

Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry is an imposing force on the football field. Not only is he a mammoth of a man at 6’3” and 247 pounds, he also has the speed to break away from the defense in the open field. The Steelers need to play stout rushing defense and not allow Henry to have a monster of a game. The Titans are 16-0 whenever Henry rushes for over 100 yards, so keeping him under 100 and keeping him out of the endzone is key.

Get to the Quarterback

Honestly, this should be a key every week. If there’s one thing the Steelers defense does well, it’s get after the quarterback. This week the victim is Ryan Tannehill. For the Steelers to win, they need to make him uncomfortable. The Titans have been winning because he hasn’t been making many mistakes. If the defense gets in his face and forces him to make quick decisions, the mistakes will come.

Play Mistake-Free Football

You know what I said about the Titans winning because Tannehill hasn’t been making mistakes? A key to winning this game is limiting mistakes. Whether it be turnovers or taking penalties. If the Steelers can play mistake-free then they have a good shot at coming away with a victory.

Players to Watch:

Tennessee Offense: RB Derrick Henry
Tennessee Defense: DT Jeffery Simmons
Pittsburgh Offense: QB Ben Roethlisberger
Pittsburgh Defense: NT Tyson Alualu
