Today, I learned that the most popular NFL bet in July 2022 was the Lions reaching over six wins, and now I understand why Vegas wins all the time.
I get it, though. It pains me to be writing this article. I don’t want to be writing this article in the first place. For a myriad of reasons that we’ll get into throughout the course of this piece, the Detroit Lions became a plucky sentimental favorite among fans around the league. I want to love the 2022 Lions, and I have to say, I really do like what they’re putting together up there in the Motor City. But, while it might break my heart to say it, betting the over on this team’s win total right now is a pretty foolish move for even the most aggressive of gamblers.
Because the 2022 Detroit Lions are going to disappoint you.
