The 2022 college football season is almost here, which means the 2023 NFL Draft is basically right around the corner. At the time of this writing, it’s 240 days away. So, I decided we should give the top guys in the draft something to fight for. That’s right, this year I’m doing power rankings. I had a ton of fun with the Check-Down Check-Up the past two seasons, but it was time to move on. As I transition further away from league coverage and closer towards year-round draft coverage, I wanted to keep a pulse on who’s most likely to be the No. 1 overall pick come April 27.
We’ll be opening up with six candidates, as I believe there are six players who have even a reasonable chance to grab the top spot in this year’s draft. If someone starts skyrocketing up the boards, I’ll add more spots. If a player, conversely, fails miserably, I’ll take them off. These rankings can be very fluid because it’s my list, and so I can do whatever I want. It’s pretty convenient that way.
