Don't you hate when your favorite team loses yards on first down? It's not a great feeling, but certainly not a death sentence for the drive. They could easily pick up those lost yardage over the next couple of plays, but by that same token, they may end up in a third an unmanageable. That's where I find myself now, not with the full-chested optimism of August, on first and ten, but a little later, and a little farther back than I'd imagined.
